Most quick dry shorts fail the moment you actually put them to the test. They dry fast enough but they look cheap, sit awkwardly at the thigh, or have that plasticky sheen that reads as sportswear even when you’re not doing anything athletic. We’ve been through enough of them to know the gap between a short that performs and one that also looks like you made a considered choice is narrower than it used to be, but you still have to know where to look.
