Most floral shirts announce themselves before you’ve even sat down. Big blooms, saturated colours, the kind of print that needs its own introduction. That’s not what we’re interested in here. The ones we’ve pulled together work because they don’t shout. The print is considered, the scale is right, and the base cloth is good enough that the shirt looks intentional rather than hopeful. These are florals that earn their place in a grown man’s wardrobe without asking him to dress around them. Wear one with chinos and a clean trainer and it does the job without trying. The same shirt tucked into trousers with a loafer looks equally settled. That versatility is exactly what we were looking for. We’ve been particularly drawn to shirts where the floral sits in the weave or uses a muted palette rather than relying on contrast to make its point. Subtlety here is not a compromise. It is precisely the point.
