Some watches are bought to be admired. These ones are bought to be worn. There is a particular kind of watch that does not ask to be babied, that holds up to the kind of day that involves travel, physical work, or simply the accumulated carelessness of a life lived at pace. We have been looking specifically at pieces with meaningful water resistance, solid case construction, and movements that do not need constant attention. None of that means dull. The best tool watches carry genuine character and look as considered on a dressed up wrist as they do on a casual one. What we have avoided is anything that markets itself on toughness but sacrifices legibility or proportion in the process. A watch that looks like a piece of machinery from a 1980s action film is not what we are after. These are well built watches that also happen to look excellent. Durability and taste are not a trade off.
