Not because it is unimportant, but because a good one does its job without asking for attention. The leather should be firm enough to hold its shape through a long day, the buckle simple enough to sit flat under a jacket, and the width appropriate for the trouser loops it will actually live through. We have been looking specifically at belts that work from a morning meeting through to dinner without looking like they are trying to signal anything. No logo plates. No textured novelty leather.
