Grey denim sits in an interesting place in the wardrobe. It reads as casual without looking like you’ve stopped trying, and it carries a bit more visual weight than chambray without committing to the full rigidity of a proper denim shirt in indigo or black. The grey version is easier to style than most men expect. It works over a white tee with chinos, tucked into darker trousers for something more considered, or worn open as a light layer when the weather can’t quite make up its mind. What we’ve been looking for specifically is shirts where the fabric has a decent weight to it, the collar lies flat without assistance, and the cut doesn’t veer into workwear territory unless that’s clearly the intention. A lot of grey denim shirts miss on one of those three things. These don’t. Whether you wear yours buttoned up or thrown over something underneath, these are pieces that actually do the work you need them to do.
