Most men have never really thought about their slippers and it shows. The battered foam things by the back door are doing nobody any favours. A proper moccasin slipper is a different thing entirely. The construction matters, the leather matters, and the sole matters more than you’d think once you’re actually moving around the house in them.
What we like about the moccasin specifically is that it looks considered without trying. There is a reason the shape has not changed much in decades. It works. The ones we’ve pulled together here sit at the better end of what’s available, with a focus on suede and leather uppers that age well and soles that can handle a quick trip outside without looking ridiculous.
These are also, and this point is worth making, shoes you could be seen in. A good moccasin slipper in the right colour works with lounge trousers, jeans, and a decent pair of chinos. Comfort that actually looks the part.
